Article: Why Burn Beeswax?

Why Burn Beeswax?
Long before we made our first candle my dad was burning beeswax. He even likes to tell the story from back in the day when we would light a beeswax votive and place it in the console of his 1980 Chevy truck.
There is something incredibly special about the warm glow and amber light of a beeswax candle. Many of you who are reading this might already be familiar with the positive attributes of this golden wax. Others might have come here for our unique shapes and forms, but are less familiar with one candle wax compared to another.
Either way we are here to help. Here is why we burn beeswax.
A Gift from Nature
We source our beeswax from a two generation family of beekeepers here in Pennsylvania. This family moves their hives around the east coast depending on the season. Bees are a fundamental piece of our ecosystem. The majority of our crops rely on these busy bees! Beeswax is a byproduct of this natural system. When you think of beeswax you think of a field full of flowers, a buzzing hive...life! The alternative waxes rely on the sterile fields of monocropped soybeans or the byproducts of refined oil.
Each one of our candles pays homage to the essential role bees play in our world.
Qualities of Beeswax
Clean Burning: Beeswax candles burn cleanly, emitting virtually no soot or toxins. This makes them a fantastic choice for those with sensitivities or allergies.
Naturally Scented: Beeswax possesses a subtle, sweet, honey-like aroma. This gentle fragrance, a gift from the floral nectar the bees collect, creates a calming and inviting atmosphere without the need for artificial scents.
Air Purifying: Beeswax candles release negative ions when burned, which can help neutralize pollutants and allergens in the air. This natural air purification can contribute to a healthier and more refreshing indoor environment.
Burn Brighter, Longer: One of the most practical advantages of beeswax candles is their longevity. Due to their higher melting point, they burn slower and longer than other types of wax, such as soy or paraffin. This means you can enjoy the warm glow and ambiance for hours on end, making them a worthwhile investment.
Life is Short, Burn the Candle
Some of our customers say our candles are too nice to burn. While we understand this sentiment, we choose a different path. Burn that beeswax and burn it often. Once you see you that warm amber glow you'll understand why...
Thanks for reading.
