For those of you from out of town, our studio is in Phoenixville, PA - home of the Firebird Festival, founded by two of John’s Conestoga High School classmates and fellow fire signs, Bill and Mia.

In its industrial heyday early in the twentieth century, Phoenixville was an important manufacturing center and home to the great iron and steel mill, Phoenix Iron Works. The Phoenix Trivet was made to honor our town’s rich history of making and our continual rebirth here at Artifaqt. Original clay sculpture was done by Brandon Vicchio, the lead sculptor at Artifaqt for over 20 years.

We cast the waxes here, then send them to be molded and poured at an American foundry. Upon their return, we complete the post casting grinding and polishing.
