Small Wooden Bowl
Every room in the house can use a small wooden bowl. These are both hard working and particularly beautiful. Available in Ash with a charred exterior or Walnut, both are finished with three coats of beeswax/oil blend. The bowls are 7” in diameter by 2” high. Care- Hand wash with warm water and mild soap. Do not soak in water. Dry immediately after washing. An occasional coat of our proprietary Artifaqt Balm or a similar beeswax and oil product will help the wood continue to repel moisture and increases the life of the product.
The beauty of this black finish comes from burning the wood with flame, a process called shou-sugi-ban. It is difficult to photograph but there is more depth and richness than you can get with dye or stain. The technique originated in Japan to insect and fire proof wood siding, we’re borrowing it purely for beauty.
